John Round
August 02, 2019

In partnership with the RI Commerce Corporation, RI Bio is pleased to announce the appointment of John “Jay” Round to the organization’s new “Entrepreneur in Residence” Program. This new program is designed to provide Rhode Island entrepreneurs in the life science field with access to hands-on experience in how to launch and grow a company. Jay has worked in the bio industry since 2006, including most recently a life sciences investment consultant for the Slater Technology Fund in Providence, RI. In his new role, Jay will help business owners in the life sciences field to better understand regulatory issues, technology transfer, funding streams and how to connect and collaborate with academic partners. He will provide free office hours and consulting in RI Bio’s Providence office and additionally at the Innovate Newport offices.

“We are so excited to collaborate with Commerce RI and Innovate Newport to be able to offer life science expertise and access to industry resources in RI,” said Carol Malysz, executive director of RI Bio. “Jay will be a great addition to our team and will offer his many years of life sciences expertise and experience to help RI life sciences entrepreneurs grow and expand their companies.”

For more information about these services, please contact Carol Malysz at carolmalysz@ri-bio.org or Jay Round at jayround@ri-bio.org.
