Prioritizing Mental Health, Accessibility, and Equity in RI Health Innovation

NEMIC is opening a rolling application to the NEMIC Accelerator Program The program is an intensive, 3-month, business accelerator geared towards mental health, equity, and telehealth solutions.

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the need for effective healthcare response plans. It also highlighted the need for services for underrepresented communities and underrepresented health entrepreneurs. These communities consist of minority ethnic groups, underprivileged neighborhoods, remotely located areas where healthcare service organizations are not readily available, and more. This program will accelerate and incubate startups that have innovative solutions in this new age of healthcare.
 Accepted Startups will receive:6-20 training hoursBi-weekly advisoryUp to $10,000 in funding Access to NEMIC’s network of investors and experts NEMIC’s signature Med Tech Leadership Classes
The program serves minority populations through a two-pronged approach. First, it will seek technologies that address health equity problems. Second, it will prioritize underrepresented/minority-owned company applicants.5-10 qualified participants will develop, solidify their business model, and test their solutions.Participants will receive up to $10,000 to engage in key activities and move their startups closer to being investable. During this program, participants are required to take specified NEMIC educational Med Tech Leadership Program sessions, work towards accomplishing project milestones and meet external stakeholders to validate and collect data.
