Meet our Leadership

Carol Malysz, Executive Director, leads the RI Bio community and Board of Directors in developing strong collaborations among life sciences companies, entrepreneurs, sources of capital, academic and medical centers, hospitals and government organizations to ensure a high-value life sciences community. Through education and advocacy, she supports innovators, students, clinicians, academics and businesses in their efforts to advance science.
Jay Round, RI Bio’s Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) provides free consulting and advisory services to help life sciences entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. The EIR helps Rhode Island start-ups leverage a plethora of resources at the academic and state level, and helps them better understand regulatory issues, technology transfer, funding streams and how to connect and collaborate with academic partners.
“The R.I. innovation community is expected to bring 1000-plus jobs and an additional $100 million in revenue to the state over the next 20 years.”
