PROVIDENCE, RI–April 26, 2022–RI Bio, Southeastern New England’s life sciences trade group, announced their slate of NEXT WAVE events with Venture Café Providence every Thursday in May that celebrates the life sciences.
“The pandemic put advances in life sciences and biotech on fast forward, ushering in a new wave of innovation,” said Carol Malysz, RI Bio Executive Director. “NEXT WAVE celebrates them with events that present informative and topical discussions and allow for in-person networking. I’m really looking forward to fostering more collaboration and making more peer-to-peer connections.”
The slate of events includes:
- May 5th – The Rhode Island Business Competition Awards Ceremony. Winners will be announced and finalists present their innovations, which will be interesting to see since previous winners have been from the MedTech and Healthcare sectors.
- May 12th – NEXT WAVE Innovation and Life Sciences Digital Health–Shaping Tech-Enabled Healthcare. A team of experts will present an inside look at digital health innovations, from AI and apps to online therapies.
- May 19th – NEXT WAVE Innovation and Life Sciences MedTech–Making The Right Product & Making It Right. A team from Veranax will discuss how they help companies transform a novel idea or prototype into a commercial product ready for the masses with best-in-class expertise. Veranex speakers include Michael Harman, Director of R&D Engineering and Fernando Oliveira, VP Strategic Development, Diagnostics & Life Sciences. Veranex client Dr. Jack Regan of LexaGene will also speak about the entrepreneurial journey.
- May 26CAR T: A New Game-Changing Therapy in Cancer Treatment and Mitigating Recurring Negative Trends in Thyroid Heallth & Improving Careth – NEXT WAVE Innovation and Life Sciences Bio Advancements. Two exciting presentations offer a glimpse into the latest exciting Bio Advancements. First, Joe DeStefano, Senior Clinical Scientist at Bristol Myers Squibb will discuss CAR T: A New Game Changing Therapy in Cancer Treatment and how it works. Next up is Mitigating Recurring Negative Trends in Thyroid Health with the founders of Sci-Layne Inc.
